A Little Bit of heaven

Lådna, Stockholm, Sweden
We were off bright and early on a lovely sunny day, destination another anchorage in a similar group of islands to Paradiset, off the islands of Lådnaön and Norrgårdsön, called Lådnafladden, 15 miles away. Our route was to take us in through the island group of Paradiset, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Again, there was little wind and what there was was against us, so the engine was back in use.

Sometimes, luck is on your side . With the exception of the minor annoyance of the unreasonable anchoring behaviour of our Dufour neighbour, we'd had a lovely, peaceful evening. We wouldn’t have had that in Paradiset, it was like Butlins on a bad day. Horribly crowded. It was a beautiful place, admittedly, but absolutely not for us. The photo gives some idea of what it was like. So we pressed on, managed 30 minutes or so sailing when the course was favourable, then we found ourselves in the absolutely wonderful natural harbour of Lådnafladden and we anchored in 8 metres in a little cove between Norrgårdsön and the islet of Yttra Lövskäret at 12:00. There were other boats around, admittedly, but very few and a good distance away and it was beautiful, and peaceful and – warm! So that was it for the rest of the day, serious sunbathing and novel-reading, followed by a barbecue and dinner in the warmth in the cockpit. Heaven!
