A Nice but event-free day

Rånö, Stockholm, Sweden

Some days, there is not much to report and this was one of them . It was nice weather, albeit with
a chill but good breeze so we could sail mostly, the 27 miles to an anchorage
off the island of Rånö, a lovely sheltered spot thanks to the adjacent island
of Ängsholmen making a deep bay, called in the pilot Rånöhamn. The only event
of note during the day, which lasted from 10:15 through to 16:30, was that it
was Julie's turn to spot wildlife, namely a white-tailed eagle and she has a
photo to prove it! The other event was that we had been given assurances that
all was progressing vis a vis the house, we just have to be patient,
apparently.

Our first anchoring attempt was abortive, the anchor wouldn’t hold and it came up
stinking of foul mud. We moved, tried again and it held, in actually a nicer
spot than our first effort. The breeze was quite chilly and due to its’
direction, rendered the cockpit unpleasant to sit in despite the warm sun, so
we put our cockpit cover on and were instantly as warm as toast and there we
sat for the majority of the evening, including having dinner , the cold remains
of last night’s barbecue & salad.

Then, as we had a full battery on the computer, we watched another
Wallander, and enjoyed it.
