I left Mauritius yesterday, and I have to say I really learned a lot at my Sustainability conference there. Our group presentation went very well, and a lot of questions were asked, and some that will have us looking at our Place Building model more closely, and "globally" if you will. I met some great colleagues - it was mostly academics - and have made contacts for the future.
On the last day there, 4 of us took off for the beach at Trou aux Biches, and hired a glass bottom boat (along with some inalnd Mauritians on holiday) and went snorkeling on the reef there - It was terrific, and great to see tropical, salt water fish in their natural habitat.
Then that evening I caught my flight from Mauritius to Paris, and spent yesterday walking around the St. Germain area, and the Montmartre area. I had a great lunch in a little bistro and met two British French majors who were visiting Paris too.
Today, I plan to go on a walk through the Marais, and end up at the Pomidou museum, because of my affinity for modern art.
Tomorrow I head back for Colorado - and I leave this trip with mixed feelings - it has been a tremendous experience, but I am ready to get back into my spring semester routine.
Talk to you all soon!!
