Oh, Wow - A Room with a View of the Bay of Angels

Nice, Provence, France
So I have been back in Nice, and have totally scored on this recommendation by Julie, my university acquaintance from my first night. The hospitality details: La Maison du Seminaire is a former seminary, and run by Cathloics, "so they don't care about making money" said the kind man who commended me on my choice to stay there and then helped me lug my suitcase up the stairs when I arrived. (OK, so it is not inexpensive to stay here, but it is not outrageous either, considering what you get.)

I have been assigned the end room on the 3rd floor, Sea side, and the room itself is quite spartan . But there are two HUGE windows that I can open and gaze out from. And THE CERULEAN BLUE VIEW is SO BREATH-TAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL out my two enormous windows, that I am forced to include several photos so you are sure to understand what cerulean blue looks like. (Yes - it morphs from day to night, too!)

Look at these views I have! I have photographed the sea in the afternoon, evening, then the morning, then afternoon again - I just have to commit these views to memory, and the concept of peace and place, or both.

It was best to leave the windows open at night to feel the sea breeze, and then, well, I had a hard time closing them during the day. I breakfasted on a terrace overlooking the Baie des Ange. I walked down the hill, crossed the road and then went down the stairs to the little beach that was in front of the hotel. See those people swimming in the sea? I was one of those in the afternoon.

Drew - I watched the ferry to Corsica arrive and leave - twice! I walked over to the port, which I am next door to, and checked out the yachts and dingys. I was tempted to take a boat out, but really, that experience is so good shared, that I did the museum tour instead.
