For the past three days I have been a passenger on the Paradise Elegance, and cruising in Ha Long Bay which is 4 hours east of Hanoi. Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means it is a place of such unusual natural beauty that it is protected forever for citizens of the world to enjoy.
Thank you, Michelle, for guiding me to this cruise line - I have been spending time in a very elegant setting with Australians, British, Dutch - and Swedes, all who have been very friendly and fun to share this experience with.
Over the three days we cruised around the Bay, went through a cave where Vietnamese hid and lived in the past, visited a Cultured Pearl Farm, saw a floating village, and climbed Titop Island. We also ate wonderful meals, and did early morning Tai Chi on the deck.
I could have stayed here longer . . . but tonight I go back to Hanoi, I will see a special show at the Opera House called The Village, and visit the night market. I am enjoying my time in Vietnam, and move on to Hue tomorrow - I hope you are enjoying your part of the world. Take care - Diane

From the pics, I expect you ran into James Bond. Or agents of SMERSH.
