Sun at My Beach Resort! Finally:)

Thành phố Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
I knew that Hoi An has very good beaches, and also happens to have an historic old town. So in planning this Vietnam journey, Hoi An was going to be the place I would stay near the beach - at least, to start. And I actually found a wonderful location here at the Hoi An Beach Resort and Spa (Vietnamese hospitality thinks spas are important to tourists, so I am finding them a regular part of my lodging amenities).
This resort is actually on a river, but you can walk out the front reception area, watch out for the motorcycles as you cross the road, and then continue on to the beach which has gigantic waves right now from the South China Sea.
While the weather has been mostly cloudy, I have liked this resort so well that I extended my stay here. It has a lot of features I like: a balcony off my room, a pool nearby with a bar in the middle of it, friendly staff and a nice, relatively inexpensive restaurant, and I can walk down the road and find more restaurants, and mini marts, and spas.
I have taken beautiful photographs here, but you should know I am still encountering "cold" weather, meaning when I arrived it was 55 degrees, and it has been gradually warming up to 65. The sun took a while to appear, but I saw it yesterday and today. I actually consider it perfect here, and wear a light jacket or a sweater, but the locals are in their puffy coats and hats with earmuffs.
So I have been happy with my routine of taking the shuttle into town after a great breakfast, wandering around tailor shops and deciding if I want some clothes made, exploring the historic old town, and then coming back to the quiet resort for lunch, afternoon walks, and book reading. And - I am still among a lot of Europeans, Australians, Japanese, and other tourists - but I am not seeing other Americans. Tomorrow I move into Hoi An City Center, for a different tourist perspective.
Hope you're enjoying your environment!
