York's Museums and a Great Wine & Food Experience

York, England, United Kingdom
Our first stop this morning, yet another sunny day, was to the York Castle Museum.  This was quite interesting, and after leaving we climbed up to Clifford’s Tower.
We spent some time wandering the shops, and we called in at the Shambles Market where I found a lovely handbag and scarf.  It was then time for Sunday roast at the Hole in the Wall pub, which was very nice indeed.
The afternoon was spent at the Museum of Yorkshire, before we headed to Pairings restaurant for our wine and food pairing experience.  We booked this from home before leaving, and I highly recommend it.  We were served Serrano ham with a glass of white, triple-cream Delice de Bourgogne with another glass of white, then Manchego cheese and a pork pie with a glass of red, some bresaolo and smoked cheese with another red, and the final course was a salted caramel brownie that was delicious with a red dessert wine.
This was a wonderful eating and drinking experience and was fitting for our last night in York.
