Breakfast
was back to normal today and so we had a delicious cooked to order breakfast
before using the second day of our two day HOHO pass.
We
headed straight for the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery which was in a
stunning building in a nicer part of Glasgow than we had seen so far. After spending a couple of hours in the
museum, we went for a wander around the local area before having toasted
sandwiches at Café Francoise for lunch.
We
spent the rest of the afternoon having a wander of the shops around our
hotel. I can’t say Glasgow was one of
our favourite cities. We are both glad
to have seen it, but can’t see that we would ever need to go back, which is not
how we usually feel about most cities that we have visited. We far preferred Edinburgh and if we ever visit Scotland again we would certainly return there, but not to Glasgow.
Dinner that night was at Miller and Carter, where we both shared Chateaubriand, followed by a dessert trio of chocolate pot, lemon posset tart and crème brulee. The meal was quite nice in a large attractive room.
