We flew out of Melbourne on our favourite flight, the Emirates night flight to Dubai.

 We used a driver to take us to the airport, where we straight away checked in for our flight before heading to the relatively new House Lounge.  This was originally a Virgin first class lounge and was very nice, although not quite up to the standard of the Emirates lounge.  They had a small buffet area, a good range of spirits, wines and coffee, etc. as well as a seating area where you could order a la carte, which is what we did.

 G had a burger, and I chose a piece of fish with a potato bake and a delicious sauce.  The meals were small, but you could order as much as you desired and they were very tasty.,

We boarded our flight and had an uneventful journey to Amsterdam.
