After deplaning at Schipol, Amsterdam airport, we found our
pre-booked transfer to the city. We used
a company named Taxicentrale Amsterdam.
There was no pre-payment which I liked. Once we had disembarked and collected our
luggage and dealt with the formalities, we had to find the Transfer Assistance Desk,
which was very easy. Once we had
reported that we had arrived at the desk, the taxi was called and it was a very
short wait.
It was a fairly quick and easy drive to our hotel, Banks
Mansion Amsterdam, and the transfer cost us 40 Euro.
My hotel review on Trip Advisor can be found here:
Once we were checked into our room and freshened up, we went
for a walk to get some Euro from an ATM and just generally stroll around to try
and help the jet lag.Dinner was at Restaurant Red, a restaurant that we had very
much enjoyed on our last trip to Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, it appears to have changed hands and was nowhere near as
nice as it used to be. I had a fillet
steak, and G had a steak and lobster.Back to the hotel to fall into bed after the long hours of
travelling.
