Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Wandering & a Musical Meal

Sunday, October 13, 2019
Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
Today was not quite as damp, so after breakfast we headed back to the area we were in yesterday for our timed entry to the Rijksmuseum.  The museum was nice, but not as enjoyable as the Van Gogh.
After a couple of hours there we stopped at Amstellhoeck for lunch overlooking the canal.
Lunch at Amstelhoeck where I ate a ham and cheese focaccia and G had croquettes, obviously to make up for his mistake yesterday at lunch.
The afternoon was spent wandering through De Wallen and the Nine Streets area before stopping at a little outdoor bar on the Herengracht for a drink.
Dinner this evening was at Pasta e Basta, an Italian restaurant that has the waitstaff singing and entertaining between courses.  The entertainment varies from opera to modern ballads, jazz or disco.  It was great fun.  The food included an antipasti buffet for entrée and a choice of three pastas to share for main course.  We chose carbonara, penne salciccia and ravioli with sage and burnt butter and all were very good.
Finally, we returned to the hotel for our last night before the start of our river cruise.
