This morning we rose and had breakfast in the main dining room, which was tasty and well presented.

Shortly afterwards we boarded a bus for a trip into Amsterdam and the included canal boat tour.  We had done one of these tours before on a previous Amsterdam trip, but we still enjoyed the cruise.  After the canal boat tour, we reboarded the bus and were taken to Amstelpark which was a pretty area on the outskirts of town near the Amstel River.  There was a lovely windmill to see and photograph – I believe it was called the Riekermolen.  After a walk around the lovely park, the bus returned us to the Scenic Pearl in readiness to set sail on our long awaited river cruise.

  We sailed while we ate lunch in the dining room, I had a lovely meal of pan fried red mullet.

The rest of the day was spent sailing towards our first stop of Cologne.
