A Quiet Day in a Small French Village

Schœnau, Grand Est, France
Today was our last day on board Scenic Pearl but sadly G was still not feeling the best, and even I was a little under the weather at this point, obviously with the same cold.
The shop was originally supposed to have docked in Kehl, the German town on the Rhine, from where we could easily have done an included tour of Strasbourg.  We had spent five nights in Strasbourg earlier in the year, but would have been very happy to have another day of wandering that gorgeous city.  Unfortunately for some reason the captain decided not to travel to Kehl but instead to dock at a town in France called Schoneau.  Buses would still be provided to take us to Strasbourg for the included tours, but it was now a much longer drive, around an hour, rather than ten or fifteen minutes.
As neither of us felt like spending that much time squished on a bus to visit a place we had already seen, we decided to have a lazy day on board.  It was incredibly foggy at first so we walked straight off of the ship and wandered into the small country village of Schoneau.  After a couple of hours strolling, we returned to the Pearl to pack ready to disembark the next day.
We sailed that afternoon, had our final dinner on board and went to bed.
