Drizzly Budapest Sightseeing

Budapest, Hungary
Today started with a wonderful riverside breakfast in the hotel, before the first of many rides on the No. 2 tram.
We met up with S & J for a visit to the Holocaust Information Centre.  Like many of the Jewish museums, it was sad and haunting, but extremely well done.
We then walked in the drizzly weather to the Dohaney Street Synagogue.  The queues here were huge, but we managed to tag on the end of a guided tour.  Unfortunately, the size of the group was so large that we really couldn’t hear what was being said, which was a shame, as it would have made the visit more interesting.
It was still an enjoyable visit to the Synagogue though.
After a great burger at the Mercure hotel, we parted company with S & J and visited the Central Market Hall, where we stocked up on wonderful Hungarian paprika plus a few souvenir trinkets.
After yet another No. 2 tram ride back to the Marriott, we again enjoyed the stunning river view over drinks and nibbles.
Dinner was an enjoyable Italian meal at a small restaurant on the river bank just up from our hotel, the Da Mario.  I had saltimbocca and G had lasagne.
