Flight to London

London, England, United Kingdom
It feels as if I had been getting ready for weeks by the time I left for the UK.  I had finished editing my cross-country road trip photos and I was in a stall with my genealogy pursuits and I was really getting tired of the preparations, even though I was pretty slow in accomplishing them. I had most of everything crossed off my trip preparation list and made fair headway on all the things I had on my to-do list that I had been procrastinating on....most, but not all.
Kara picked me up at 11 am so she could get back to work by noon and I checked in for my 3 pm flight from Albany International Airport.  I didn't notice but I didn't have any seat assignments.  I ate my scanty lunch.  Usually when I go on trips I take a lot of food from my refrigerator but because I was trying to get by with just my carryon and daypack, I had no room for food except a few paltry crackers, a measly chunk of cheese and a handful of blueberries.  I ate all that and went to the gate when I did manage to get seat assignments.  A good thing too since I had paid extra for choosing the Newark to London seat.  The flight to London was delayed twice but only by 40 minutes I think and they made it all up by the time we got to London.  I had a very pleasant 18-uear-old as my seat comparion.  He grew up just outside London but moved to Sleepy Hollow NY when he was 10.  He tried to sleep and didn't eat any of the meals - said he was a picky eater.  He wore a hoodie.  I wished I had kept out more warm clothes since I was pretty cold.
