Ivybridge B&B, Goodwick Wales
I woke up even earlier this am, before Marilynn's alarm rang at 6:30 am.
I was mostly packed before we went to breakfast. This morning I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs minus the toast because it doesn't really come with toast, but I didn't order any. We had a bit of time before we had to leave for the train station and catch a train a little before or after 9 am. The train took us back past Swansea to a station where we transferred to another train and went one stop to Goodwick-Fishguard. There was another stop but it was not official I guess. By this time it was past noon.
We walked the 1.2 km to our B&B where the owner Mark was surprised that we had walked there. It was not the most pleasant walk along a relatively modest thoroughfare with no cafes or anything like that. Mark told us there was a better way to walk along a bike path that went to the beach and from there we could still get to the train station. Our room still needed to be vacuumed and we needed lunch, so we took the bike bath back into town to the train station cafe where we had baguettes and coffee and Marilynn shared her sweet potato fries with me. From there we walked back tot he beach and out along a breakwater nearly to the end. There was a fisherman at the end and Marilynn did not want to disturb him so we didn't walk to the end. Then we walked back along the bike path to the B&B where we waited in the lobby. I was just about to push aside my bags and sprawl out on the sofa and take a nap. It was already 4 pm by now when Mark the owner appeared and let us go to our room. He carried Marilynn's big, heavy bag up to our 2nd floor room.
Since we have been up here in our room, we have located the outlets and put our stuff away. Marilytnn has checked out some of the walks - like the Marine Walk and the river Gwann walk. We need more information though. We are thinking of asking the owner to drop us off at Lower Fishguard tomorrow, taking the river walk for a bit and then doing the Marine Walk to return to the B&B. Marilynn also made a reservation at the town's only real restaurant where we were not inspired by the menu. It is now almost 5:30 pm. I think Marilynn is doing some hand laundry. We will probably go down for a drink before going to the grocery store to get some food for a light dinner.
