Llandudno Promenade, Wales, United Kingdom
Marine Hotel , Llandugno Wales
It is now the 16th and I am at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and I have 2 hrs before my flight to IOM so I might as well work on this day and see what I can remember. ...maybe not so much.
Usual morning routine...or did we have to figure out the breakfast routine.  Oh, yes, I think I teased Marilynn about wanting to go to breakfast a few minutes before their scheduled opening times.  When we got downstairs, there was a line snaking past the reception desk.  We were beginning to be unsure whether we would have to wait for the first seating to leave before we got seated at a table.  We finally got in and went to a table for two near the far wall and window.  Marilynn opted for cereal while I went to the hot buffet and had silky scrambled eggs and potato fritters.  Toast, tea and coffee were brought to the table.  That part went pretty smoothly but you could not get one piece of toast - you always got 2 pieces sliced in triangles.  After breakfast we caught a bus to Conwy for our Castle tour.  We pretty muoh toured the entire caste but I think we both weighed how many tower steps we wanted to climb.  It was a pretty nice caste but I don't remember any reconstructed room.  They did label a kitchen tower and some big gate tower though.   After the castle tour we might have had a drink - was that our milkshake lunch near the waterfront?  Not sure of the timing, the next thing we did was to walk on the city wall circuit.  We did one bit and it brought us back to the ground and we had a hard time finding where to start again - it was past a car park, through an unmarked doorway, past a house with a woman sunbathing and across the train tracks.  Once we got up there, it was quite a nice experience - you could see the surrounding countryside, some cows maybe, a water view and the old walled city within.  I really enjoyed it.  Then we visited the Pras Mawr Elizabethan lord's house which was really grand.  I opted for the paper layout and Marilynn got the audio guide.  I should have gotten the audio guide because I got nothing really from the layouts.  There were lots of rooms, nicely furnished with all kinds of period memorabilita - I especially liked the kitchen pantry with the rabbit carcasses hanging from the ceiling.
We also went on a marine walk along the estuary that was quite nice.I  I don't remember if we did anything else before taking the bus back to Llandugno because we had booked a 6:30 dinner at the hotel restaurant.  I had the cod dinner and veggies which was quite good.  Marilynn bought a bottle of merlot to celebrate my birthday.  We opted not to have dessert because nothing appealed to us that much.
Evening routine as usual...British mystery and early to bed.
