It's Friday night, and we're having desert at CC's Cafe in Glendive - mainly for the internet access! Tomorrow we begin riding Year 3 of our (now famous! - or is it infamous?) Bike Ride across the country. We arrived in Glendive this afternoon and met this year's staff (for week 1), our friends Chuck and Laura, at Makoshika State Park. They arrived yesterday and had their camp all set up. (They are tenting, while we get the luxury of our camper!) Tomorrow we will indoctrinate them into their new roles. They have a lot to live up to, as previous years have seen Lea and other family members set the bar pretty high! But we have no doubt they will be every bit as good.
We took two days (as planned) to drive here from home, but that is a different story (perhaps to be appended here later). All is well at home, with Erin set to house-sit and care for animals, garden, etc.
Tomorrow we will break camp, drive to Beach, North Dakota about 40 miles away, where we will pick up where we stopped last year. This year will most certainly be different than the last two years as there will be no mountain ranges to cross! We hope for west winds, but as of now the forecast is for southeast winds (ugh). But we are strong and we are ready, and we will treat this similar to a Narnian adventure, much in the manner of the adventures of High King Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, Eustace, Jill, and others from the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis (take this as a plug for these wonderful books)!
Off we go!

Be strong in your pedaling, the wind at your backs, and may the laughter with friends be heard throughout your trip!
