Lots of Ruins

Cusco, Peru
I have officially changed the title of this trip. It is now `Reach for the top, and get buns of steel doing it´. This morning we got up and took a cab about 11km out of the city to Tampumachay. It´s an Inca ruin just outside of the city. We then started to walk back to Cusco visiting Pucapucara, Qenco and Sacsayhuaman (all Inca ruins)along the way. At every one of these ruins there are a massive amount of stairs. And of course we had to try to reach the top of each one to get a good view and a better picture. I may actually lose weight on this trip. When we got back to the city we picked up our bags from the hotel and got a cab to Ollantaytambo. This is were you get the train to get to Macchu Picchu. It is a very touristy town. When we got here I went into the first hotel/hostal I could find. It looked beautiful, clean, overlooking the river and valley. It was $100US a night. I quickly moved on and found a small family run hostal on one of the back alleys and got a room for $20US. It wasn´t fancy but it did the trick. We had dinner on the main strip. There is wood-burning pizza ovens in almost every restaurant. So we had pizza. Now I know that that is not very original but we also had alpaca for dinner and it was really good. We got back to the hostal and we were going to have a shower (hot water was promised) but there was no hot water. I guess you get what you pay for! Nest time I will actually check to see if hot water comes out of the tap.
