Macchu Picchu

Aguas Calientes, Sacred Valley, Peru
Wow!!! That is all I can say. We woke up early to begin the climb to Macchu Picchu. We were on the trail by 5:00am. It was 600m straight up. Enough with the stairs already. It was all worth it. We arrived just before the sun came over the mountains and hit the ruins. Once I got my pictures at sunrise, we started to explore the massive complex. We tried as hard as possible to stay away from the cattle-like tour groups unless we really wanted to know something. Then we just pretended to look around and take pictures and we eavesdropped on the tour guide. At 9:00, Andrew really wanted to climb another hill, I mean mountain, to get a better view. Reach for the top right? As much as I complained some of the way, it was really cool to get up there and see the entire place from a bird´s eye view. Our reward was eating the cookies we brought in as our substenance for the day. You aren´t supposed to bring in food to the complex but we knew we were going to be there a while, longer than an organized tour and we would need something.
After visiting many nooks, crannies, stairs and rooms of M .P., we called it a day and went to the Thermal Baths. More like a warm bath than hot springs. It was nice to sit there to relieve some sore muscles.
