Well, we are off and running (at least off and flying)! A dear friend picked us up at 10:15, kindly taking time out of her day to take us to Nashville International Airport. We had plenty of time to look around at the new departure area of BNA …it really is amazing. As a note on having crossed a bridge we were totally unaware we had crossed—two different folks asked us if we needed wheelchair assistance!! It may take a drink (or two) to get beyond the hidden meaning behind such kind offers!
We had a light meal before we headed to our gate. LOTS of folks here today. Masks are now on!
We are in flight on our way to Chicago where we will have a 3 hour layover before boarding our United flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Just went through a few minutes of pretty bumpy air but that has smoothed out. Our understanding is that there are no big storms forecast, so hopefully we will leave there on time also. We know it will be a VERY crowded flight, as is this one, so keep us in your thoughts!
2:38…landed in Chicago. Wandered around gawking and then stopped for a snack. And, by the way, we got another offer of a wheelchair ride! Someone may need to have a serious sit down talk with us!!
Ta Dah!! I was just getting ready to send this off, and it looks like we have had a blessing! The two seats in the row John was in emptied out. I was seated behind him in the dreaded middle row…now I have been moved up a row to his, and there is a real chance we will have the whole row to ourselves! At minimum, we will be seated together. Great news. United has really come through for us. Signing off for today!

Pat i forgot to tell you to get this In Amsterdam i forgot the actual name but they are cut little pancakes the size of a quarter and they dust them with powdered sugar. It is a National specialty and they sell them everywhere. It is interesting to see how they make them and flip them over so fast. I will try to find the name just ask someone. Have a great time.
