Nuremberg City Walk

Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany
We will be early out the gate this morning, meeting at 9:00. I am trying to take shots of some of the information we have been given rather than writing it out. Hope it works! We are sailing in that river/canal today.
Later—Our Nuremberg City driving tour was pretty good but since the most interesting part of the city to us was the medieval Old City we didn’t enjoy it as much as what came later. We did see the outside of the justice center where the Nuremberg War Crimes trials were held. We would have liked to tour that for sure, but had to be content with just a drive by. We also saw the outside of the stadium where Hitler would stir up the thousands who came to his rallies there. I can remember seeing pictures in the past that showed him at that very spot. It is scary to think that the horrors he brought to the world could very easily happen once more. Again, we saw all of this from the inside of the bus, which didn’t give us that complete an experience.
We did very much enjoy our walk through the old city of Nuremberg. Of note is the fact that it was very, very badly damaged by bombing during WW II and much of it has been reconstructed. It was amazing to see anyway and I hope you enjoy the pictures. You can see, Mike, that these folks dress like we do with just differences in brands. Our guide was good today but we had a glitch with his microphone so had to follow him closely in order to hear him, but we managed just fine and he did a good presentation.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks for the report on what Germans wear (and could see some in the market photo too), though I am a little disappointed that they don’t wear the clothing of their ancestors. Next request - you talk alot about the locks but I don’t think you have posted any pictures of them. I remember a statue of boys urinating and bare chested women, but no locks. As an engineer, I would enjoy a picture or two of those. Keeping enjoying your cruise!

I’ve always been impressed that Germans were so quick to own up to the atrocities they were a party to. Of course it was in their best interest to do so. How is the food?
