We were some of the VERY few that didn’t have to abandon ship at some ungodly o’clock this morning. Lucky us! We did have to be out of our cabin by 8:00 AM, but that was not a problem. We were able to leisurely enjoy our morning with another FULL breakfast (one of the things that will come to a screeching halt as soon as we get home) but that is a problem for another day! Lots of the passengers on this cruise left as early as 2:30 unholy o’clock this morning! Yikes! We will be picked up at 10:30 to be taken to the airport for our 1:30 flight to London. It is another beautiful day here in Budapest, forecast to be 96! We are hoping for a little cooler in London, but we shall see.
We were picked up a few minutes early and taken with one other couple…we were the last of our fellow passengers to disembark with many of the new “campers” coming on board with the eagerness we showed two weeks ago! Hope they have as much fun as we did!
The Budapest airport was, as are all international airports these days VERY busy. It took us an hour snd a half to get through a passport check and then through luggage check and then through customs!
Made it to Heathrow just fine. Looks like there have been a few showers, but the sun was shining and the temperature felt wonderful! We took a taxi into town. Our driver was charming and we had great conversation on the way in. After getting situated, we walked just around the corner and had a very tasty Chinese meal…plan to eat there again if the timing works out. As you can see from the picture, we had a window on the world! We are exhausted and headed to bed ASAP. We have a BIG day planned tomorrow! Come back and see what it will be!

We loved our trip to London, and will definitely go back some time. One of our favorites evenings was starting in Covent Garden, walking through Chinatown and Leicester Square and eating in Piccadilly.

So glad you are safely at hotel. Looks like a romantic evening ahead with the swans. If you see a fancy pastry shop in London please stop and take a picture. I will go back to my London pics and see if I can find the name of the chain. It was a paradise of my favorite desserts. Enjoy you adventures in London rest up for lots to see and lots of walking.

I commented once already but apparently I sent it to lala land. Anyway I’m writing again, hoping you enjoy London. We acquainted ourselves with the bus system and went everywhere. We like the hop on hop off a lot. We took a bus to the airport! And I couldn’t get enough of the trains. Do ride the London Eye. I hope you are just a little ready come home.

Pat and John you must look for this bakery sweet shop they have many of them in London it is a chain business with many locations. Patisserie Valerie. Look it up take a picture if you come by one on your adventures in London.

We love walking and walking AND more walking in London! Also lots of side trips to the countryside. Do everything you can…you can rest when you get home! (That last part was for John🤭)
