There are 33 bajillion steps in London Town, and I have climbed at least half of them…I am over it. Except we plan to probably climb at least 50,000 tomorrow. Sigh. I will swear off when we get home.
Lots of pictures today and not as much commentary. We took a cab to The Shard first thing this morning and had no trouble getting in. This was a big highlight for John and I will have to admit that I throughly enjoyed it too. Mike, you would have loved it. The Shard is well over 900 feet tall and is Western Europe’s tallest building. It is over twice as tall as the London Eye which should give you a feel for the height. We were in it approximately 800 feet. Truly amazing. You will note that some of the buildings have colloquial names bestowed on them by the locals like our “Batman Building” in Nashville.
From the Shard, we walked to Tower Bridge which was another thing on John’s list. We did not do that when we were here before and we really had fun. We did not tour the Tower since we saw it the last time. We did take the water cruise from there to Westminster and Parliament and spent time walking around that area. A Bobbie suggested the jay walking we kind I’d sort of did was probably not a plan as he didn’t want to see us “squished”…That may have been my closest brush with the law in my life. Pardon me while I savor it just a little…
We stopped for fish and chips at a 160 year old tavern. After our brush with the law, I had a beer…
From Westminster we took another cab back to our home away from home. Hope you enjoy today’s pictures. Stay tuned for tomorrow when I get to tick something off MY bucket list!

Wow, you guys are a regular Bonnie and Clyde! At least if I get a phone call from someone saying “This is John, could you send some bail money” I’ll know it’s not a scam. Lol! Thanks for the great pictures, again!

I love London. Wait, did I say that yesterday. What a great day! Great views from the Shard - I would have loved that. And I am glad Kim pointed out that we ate at the same restaurant when we were there - I probably wouldn’t have notice that. Cab ride, walking, and a boat ride - a great way to tour London. Looking forward to your next post.

Wow! The Shard! Now that’s high! The highest we went was the Eye. Sounds to me like you’ve done it all! Or at least as much as can be done in the time you have.Hurry home now. We miss you.

We missed the SHARD wished we did that. You had a wonderful day and the fish and chips were probably the best. I loved that in London. They come with peas not my favorite but it is the tradition in London. I look forward to seeing your bucket list item tomorrow. Westminster is fabulous but require advanced tickets.
