Not much of nothing...

South Fork, Colorado, United States
Not much to keep anyone on the edge of their seats today. No big trips in The Big Red Truck to report. Since we have been on such a fast track the last several days, we all took a vote and decided to have a laid back day today. Laura and Tom went out after breakfast to check on a rafting trip down the Rio Grande for tomorrow, and we accomplished a great deal by going to the laundry room here at the campground and washed our clothes. The laundry room here is A+, which was a real treat. So many times public laundromats are marginal to say the least. Now we should be in good shape for another week...plus you always feel so smug when you take care of a necessary chore so easily!

Also, lest I forget ...John finished washing the last side of Mufasa. He has been working the last few days off and on getting off some of the bajillion bugs we brought with us out of Kansas. The Big Muf looks REALLY good now. My only hope is that we don't run into any rain or large amounts of bug life for at lest 10 days after we leave South Fork!

After Laura and Tom got back from checking out raft rides (I think they are going to go on one in the morning), we borrowed The Big Red Truck and drove 4 miles into South Fork to eat at a restaurant we went to when we were in Creed a few years ago, The Old Fire House. We didn't see it when we drove through Creed on Monday and were disappointed. As it turned out, the building it occupied in Creed had been sold, and apparently the rent factor went up enough that they decided to relocate in South Fork which is about 25 miles south of Creed. The food was every bit as well prepared as we remembered, and the wait staff is exceptional. We had a good meal which we enjoyed very much. Our only problem was that on the way out, we happened to spy a BIG tray of their homemade cinnamon buns!! What could we do I ask? We bought one to take back to Laura and Tom ...and another one accidentally fell into the bag with that one. What else could we do but bring it back to Mufasa with us. Really. What would YOU have done?...I thought so. (I KNOW what you would have done, Betty C!)

Our weather here today is so very nice. Blue skies, a little warm (84 degrees) but VERY low humidity (25%) so we are very comfortable. Our plans for the rest of the day consist of...not much of anything. Therefore I will get this out so that the suspense will not disturb your evening. We might play some more Rummie Kube (still not sure of spelling) and generally have a relaxing evening. Tomorrow I think the kids are going to do a morning raft ride while we baby sit Sheeba, and then we may take a trip to Pagosa Springs in the afternoon.

Until tomorrow we wish all a very good afternoon.

I know what I would have done, yes yummy. I really don't think you could have done anything else since it accidentally fell into the bag. I am glad you took a day to rest. I really like the brown lawn chair looks nice to relax in and little stand for beverages. Boy you guys sure know how to pack right. Have fun tomorrow. Might rain tonight but will cool things down here only 83 tomorrow yah!!! Lora

Brown chairs are Laura's and they love them. Ours are smaller ones that fold flat to fit in our rig.
