Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga
For those that don't know Tonga is closed on Sunday. All the shops, pubs everything. Maybe a couple of Chinese restaurants will be open but nothing else. I had to buy food yesterday to be ready for it. I had whet nix for breakfast and 2 minute noodles for dinner.
One of the few places open is Pangaimotu island so all the tourists and aid workers go there for the day. I got totally lost finding the dock, there are no signs so I walked past it and had to walk back. It cost $50 for the ferry there and back and lunch so not a bad deal. Considering it is a $60 cab ride to the nearest beach. The Snorkeling wasn't great but it was a day out and I might go back next week.
I met up with a girl I met last week in Fiji and we swapped notes, she gave me a few tips on places. We might meet up again next week in Vavau.
I think I have booked a whale swim trip for when I come back here, I'm just waiting to hear back from them.
Tomorrow I am on early flight, 5am to Vavau then to Taunga island. I am not sure my internet will work there so u might not hear from me for a few days.
