The Last Day in Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
As I am writing this, I realize that we should be home by now. However, Sandy had other ideas and we ended up spending an additional day on The Strip. With the extra time we headed north into the "normal" area of Las Vegas to find the pawn shop featured in Pawn Stars. It has definitely become a tourist attraction. There were a number of people there who were not interested in buying anything. It appears to be a very high class pawn shop with very expensive items for sale. You also can buy t-shirts and other Pawn Stars items. Since they were not taping the show this week, none of the owners were there. Thus no picture with Chumbly.

On our drive up Las Vegas Blvd we did find a number of the wedding chapels that Las Vegas is famous for . One looked as though there was a wedding in progress. Another even had a drive-up wedding window.

Then it was back down the strip to wander around in the Luxor and New York, New York Casinos. In New York, New York I decided to try $1 in a penny machine and walked out with $22. Nice return on my money.

Our final stop for the day was once again the Habitat at the Flamingo. During our first visit we were dealing with flight cancellations and rebookings and Fred did not walk around the Habitat. So today we were feeling less stress over Sandy and Fred wandered around with me. The birds were still the same, but I was able to enjoy them better.

Tomorrow, if all goes well we will be winging our way across the country and will sleep in our own bed tomorrow night.
