Arlington, Whitehouse & Memorials

Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Today we got around in a few taxis to see some of the memorials. First stop, the Lincoln Memorial was most impressive but it's a shame that the Reflecting Pool was drained and closed for renovation. Next we caught a taxi across the Potomac to Virginia and the Arlington National Cemetery where we saw JFK's and his family's graves.

After that we caught another taxi to the Iwo Jima Memorial and the Pentagon Shopping Centre . After having lunch and doing some shopping, we walked to the Pentagon Building and saw the 911 Memorial there. We then caught another taxi to the Whitehouse and from there walked across the Mall to the Washington Monument and headed home with a detour to the Jefferson Memorial.
