Acclimatizing in Cairns

Cairns, Queensland, Australia
Woke up dazed from bus lag, heat and humidity. After orientating myself a bit, ate remaining 2 pieces of raisin bread (this is a backpackers' after all) with powdered milk. Went to book myself on a dive course begining the next day.

0945 hrs took a bus to the city . Very hot, colourful with Torres Strait Islanders, whites are boisterous as ever. Withdrew cash from a busy Commonwealth Bank (which bank?) and looked for Pro Dive Shop, finding it on Marlin Jetty. Could not find good food so settled for burger. Shopped in Woolworths for expedition needs and food supplies in Cairns, walking back with heavy load.
Swam in the pool (there is no beach in Cairns).
At 1810 went running along the Explanade with leather boots. 1900 swam again. After a dinner of noodles and many showers, talked to Tom of England and Jodie of Richmond.
