Happy Mid Autumn Festival To You All

Hey Hey and a Big G'Day to you

Just thought I'd drop you a line to wish you well this weekend.
Yes, mid Autumn Festival has arrived. The moon is huge, families are feasting and I've a fridge full of moon cakes I'll never be able to eat. So I've attached a photo of moon cakes just for you so hopefully, when I open my fridge they will all be gone. The ones in plastic are from the store and the other two are from Lilly's mum (my fav little student from up stairs). Lilly's mums are beautiful but the others I don't like at all. They are all gooey and green and thick and feel yukky in your mouth when you eat them.

It was funny on Friday, the school gave me a big box of the ones from the store (the ones I don't like) and I managed to pass them out to everyone else...yes, good I thought, now I don't have to eat them or store them in the fridge. What happened when I got home, there was another box on my door step (no doubt from someone else who doesn't like Moon Cakes from the store! I'm sure I could hear people giggling as I picked them up). Stop laughing, it gets worse! Later Lilly came down with a second larger box full. Oh No! So now my fridge is full of Moon Cakes I will never eat. I think I'll use some for door stops, others for paper weights and take the rest to the market place and pass them out later in the evening to unsuspecting families who are happily walking around town to view the moon.

I'm sitting here suffering from two nights of KTV. Oh too much beer and food! Both nights I got home as the sun was yawning and making it's first coffee for the day. Friday nights was for...um, no idea. When my friend invited me last week, she said she had a secret but wouldn't tell just yet. I guess that was the reason for the party Friday night but no one remembered to tell me in English what she said when she gave her little thankyou's to all. Last nights was a KTV staff members birthday turned Mid Autumn Festival party. The food was just awesome! I'm unsure of how many times we sang Happy Birthday and I then had to repeat it in English, but it was worth it for the food alone! Then there was the usual performance of 'Take Me To Your Heart', both nights by me sounding worse than dying cat! (MMMmmm, anyone got some lemon sauce!) And I asure you, I went no where near the plates containing Moon Cakes.

I think it will be a very relaxing day today. My friend Tanya (a student from Baise who's from Tianyang) called this morning and is coming home for the day so I'll be joining in the family feast at her house. So, Happy Mid Autumn Festival to you all. Hope you enjoy the Moon Cakes in the photo and hopefully my fridge will be empty when I check it.
Moon Cakes full of smiles to you....shane

PS: It's a good night to watch an American Warewolf in London
(don't leave the road and beware the Moon..cakes)
