Langmusi, China

Hey Hey and G'day to you all

Well what can I tell you about the bus trip from Songpan to Langmusi?

Not much at all really!

I woke feeling horrible after bugger all sleep. My neck began aching last night and it was almost killing me. I spent 99% of the bus journey to Langmusi with my back on one seat and lower legs on the seat opposite. The journey from Songpan to Langmusi WILL take around three or four hours in the future.

Now due to road works, sadly for me, my stomach and my back, it doesn't!

When I say road works I MEAN full on 'lets pull up the old road and build a new road most of the way'. So we had to take the camel tracks and man they were bumpy! The journey in the end took us over nine hours and by the end of it I was aching all over. All I wanted to do was be sick but not even the out door toilet/pit at the back of the eatery in Zoige on the province border helped me with that.

What I did see of the journey was just beautiful. The entire journey the windows were full of huge rolling green grassland hills. No flats, from what I saw anyhow, just huge rolling hills. I was told there were several beautiful little village/towns but they must have passed whilst I was being thrown around in my makeshift bed.

Why not sit up?

Cause my head would begin to spin and the rolling green hills would begin to really roll!

Ok Langmusi, we made it to Langmusi around 5:30pm. I didn't get to see much of the town this day. We priced a few hotels and ended up forking out extra to make sure I had a bathroom attached. The internals were begining to play games. By 6ish I was under the covers trying to keep warm on a very VERY warm day.

I spent the entire night running to and fro playing 'Runs Forest Runs'.

It was a horrid evening but it's amazing the comfort that an extra 20 Yuan can bring you.

ACCOMMODATION: When you get to Langmusi you'll be dropped off outside the Langmusi Hotel. The lady who comes to the door to meet you is not only beautiful but full of information. It is here at the Langmusi Hotel where you buy on going bus tickets from. They only had four bed dorms left (15Y each bed) so we headed accross to the very colourful Tibetan looking hotel which was too pricey so we then checked out the Plateu Hotel. HHHhhhmmm, strange hotel, kinda gives you the feeling that it is were the town drunks end up. So we headed around the corner (to the right) and checked in at the 'blaablaa' Hotel. Sorry, it was in Chinese. The clock behind the reception desk has the usual important world clocks, but this one even had Sydney...spelt Sydoney!

Cheered me up for a coupla minutes anyhow.

BUT, if you turn right at the t-intersection and walk past Leisha's Cafe there are heaps of small Chinese Guesthouses. Best place is easily the Langmusi Hotel though. Most foreigners stay there and like I said, heaps of info too!

EATING: this day...didn't eat!

Beers N Cheers to ya...Shane

(no spell check done yet...don't even begin to complain about the smelling!)
