Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya,

Though I love summer and travelling, I think as a bike rider here in rural China I would put autumn pretty high up on my favourite seasons list. It really is an amazing season to ride in. The fields are so full of colour and happy farmers working the land. It is such a hard life for them and one that barely pays enough to live but they always seem to be happy and well fed. Most of my friends here and back in Guangxi were raised in villages so I've been to so many of them and have shared so many good times and meals with their families.

They have nothing to speak of except their home, their land and their families.

No fridges, freezers, washing machines, air cons, neon lights, gas, heating, cement floors etc.
They do have dirt floors, one or two light bulbs, the pigs next to the kitchen, chickens running around the house the same as we have cats and dogs, huge woks, wood stoves/ovens, a toilet in with the pigs or beside the pigs and hard working families and friends.

Rice mate!
I've never seen so much of it.
It is literally everywhere.

It's growing in the fields in all its different shades of green.
It's spread all over the roads drying.
It's in piles on all the roads waiting to be put through the rice machine that separates the husks.
It's on everyone's front porches.
It's seriously is everywhere you look.

It's now time for an English Lesson...haha!

This is taken from my Grade 6 English Book.

Autumn is the third season of the year.
Autumn begins around September.
The weather gets cooler and cooler and the days get shorter and shorter.
Autumn is the gold season.
The leaves on the trees turn to yellow and brown.
The farmers are busy harvesting.
Look! They are harvesting rice!

That's all from me for this entry.
Check out the photos and try to picture my daily life and rides.
Totally awesome!

Beers, Noodles and a heap of Rice toya....shane
