Shaowu, Fujian, China

Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya,

I can’t believe I lost musical chairs.
I can’t believe I lost the balloon stomp.
I knew I should have had an extra coffee.

Each year a lively bunch of students from our Sister School in Singapore swap currency and desk mates and leave behind the warmth of home to spend a week here in Shaowu seeing how the 'other people’ live. The last time I was teaching here they came during the warmer months but for some reason this year they came just as winter sneakily snuck her icy foot in the door. Our students on the other hand simply swap Fujian humidity for that found just off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula during the summer break and while they are at it I hope they try their hardest not to get caught spitting and littering in one of the cleanest countries on earth.

So what happens during their visit?
Games Games Games and more Games!
Yes, somehow my job becomes even more enjoyable.
When we are not playing games we play ‘dress ups’ and have even more fun!

Beers N Noodles toya…..shane
PS: Yes the fan dancing beauties are actually our teachers...Yummy!
