Shangrao, Jiangxi, China

Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya,

Found nestled at the foot of Forest Mountain, the DongYue Temple makes a great destination for ride. If in need of more, I simply leave my bike at the temple and head to the top of mountain and then walk back to the temple along the river.

The photos in this entry were mostly taken last term but I’ve added a few more this week and they will take you along my ride to and from the temple.

Forest Mountain and the DongYue Temple are found just across the river from Shangrao's main shopping district. The park quickly became one of my favourite peaceful places to spend a lazy day and the temple has continued to draw me back to its five hundred year old grace. Thankfully both are a ten to fifteen minute bus ride away from my school in Shangrao County. My ride to and from takes around three hours as I usually begin by riding in the oppostite direction to cross the river at the cities first bridge and then slowly make my way along the river towards the city.

How sweet is JiangNi at the Happy Valley/DonYue Temple sign!
