Jinggangshan, Jiangxi, China

Hey Hey and a Big G'Day Toya,

Magnificent views unfurl from the watching tower, Huangyanjie sitting to the west of Jinggang Shan at more than one thousand three hundred meters above sea level and standing at over one thousand four hundred meters above sea level Five Fingers Peak is to the south and is immortalised on the back of the old one hundred Yuan banknote.

After seeing the Battle Site where Long March all really started we then decided on seeing two 'unknown' sites on the ticket which ended up being Maoping and Longshi Towns, both of which Mao Zedong visited and lived in prior to the beginning of the legendary Long March.
That long and winding track as where Mao and others carried food, water and other requirements to their soldiers...ALONG with also continuing to fight. That was the first small pin point on the map of China where they actually went and walked....and no, not the car road, the one that goes way way way into the distance in the mountains.

Jinggang Shans Area/Access Ticket

Several days ago when I finally got around to purchasing my Area Ticket I was surprised at the cost (260 Yuan) but when I was told the actual details such as that it lasts for an entire five days etc I of course handed over the cash.

The actual ticket is 190 Yuan and the extra 70 Yuan is for the bus ride to and from Dujuan Shan.
Don't worry I couldn't figure it out either, why not just make the ticket 260 Yuan?

Maybe you can buy one that doesn't include Dujuan Shan, but you'd be an idiot to do so.
From the moment of purchase you never have to pay for any buses nor entry fees to and from anywhere around the entire area and from memory I think it is twelve different sites. In fact I think it is one of the best tickets I've purchased in many years and it makes things SO easy.

Oh sorry I lied, you do have to pay for cable cars but that is covered on Dujuan Shan.
Oh and you do have to pay separately for the rafting, but that's not a site is it.

Simply turn up to the main 'tourist' bus station in the morning and from there you catch your first bus for the day. At most sites if you are tired there are buses back to Ciping along with buses that take you to a completely different site and you then carry on until the end of the day and then continue the following day.

260 Yuan (plus cable cars if you want them) for an entire week...not too shabby!
