Hey Hey and a Big G'Day Toya,

After having my secretary check my incredibly busy daily schedule I found that I was free the rest of the day.

So I figured, after a wonderful morning and afternoon on a boat visiting two River Temples why not use this time wisely and walk the twelve kilometers back to Qingyuan city from the Baimiao Boat Docks. So with the river gorge behind me I began my walk and not far from Baimiao Village are a small handful of boat builders where I spent an hour walking around with my Occupational Health and Safety clipboard trying to find at least one tick, even just a small one would have been nice.

Yeeeeup, a whole lota safety going on there!

The rest of the walk took me through peaceful little villages surrounded by so much bamboo that even Pan Pan and her friends couldn’t devour it in an entire lifetime. Once I hit the river I figured why not follow it the rest of the way which was a good idea for an hour or so until I looked across the fields and saw how far away the road was.

It definitely didn’t follow the river like I thought it did.
What idiot would build a road that follows the most direct route...sheez!
What should have been a twelve km walk turned into maybe double that which for me was the perfect end to a most awesome day!

Beers N Noodles toya...shane
