Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya,

KISS (type) Masks, you can find them almost anywhere.
But who ever would have thought I’d find one at Tieshan Temple?

Just back from an awesome day with the students and mean all of them, every single one of them. If you look at the photo of everyone in red sitting on a set of stairs, that would be them and out of all of them only twenty three or so are mine….well there are another six but I never get to see them for class. They are the Grade 5 and 6 class and I’m supposed to see them at 5:30 every second Friday afternoon but their parents always come to collect them prior to that.

So the one or two that are left get to watch Mr Bean or a movie with me.
As for today, all I can say is the students were so well behaved…thankfully!

Now For A Bit On Where We Visited Today

The park is divided into three parts: Tieshan Buddhist Temple, Tianquan Lake and the forest conservation land.

The temple was initially established in 182 A.D., (one thousand years ago) by Yan Fudiao, a famous Buddhist monk in the Han Dynasty and the construction project took more than fifteen years to complete. In later dynasties, the temple had become so famous that a large number of new temples were erected in the adjacent areas. Unfortunately, most of these temples were demolished during times of war and during the Cultural Revolution.

Tianquan Lake occupies nine square kilometers of the park’s territory and the Forest conservation land harbors a great diversity of living species with more than five hundred plant species, over forty species of wild animal along with many birds and insects many of which are listed under the endangered species category.
