Edinbourgh, Scotland, United Kingdom
So I'm finally getting a chance to tell all of you about me and murs Scotland adventurrrrre! Alright. We flew into edinbourgh in the evening. I was expecting to see beautiful hills and green grass and just be in awe....well it's just funny how you can have such crazy preconceptions. Edinbourgh is dreery and dirty and cold and blugh. If you are planning a trip to Scotland, I suggest you skip the city and head straight for the highlands in the north. But anyway, we arrived at the place we were staying for 4 nights .... Which was a dorm at edinbourgh university .... (mur and I called it one of our "experiences", if you know what I mean). I felt lime I was at ball camp or something being in the dorms in th summer, althought it was never warm and we loved the sunshine when we saw it. So after one day exploring the city (ps the royal mile is overrated)...oh wait! Edinbourgh has one fun thng! We went inboard the royal Yacht the Britannia! That was super cool and we had lunch in the tea room which was on deck :) I did a research paper on Princess Diana so it was cool knowing she had been there. But after THAT! We got out of the city and headed to the highlands on yet another tour for two days. We had fun, met some nice people and finally let our eyes feast upon beautiful green mountains and ugh it was so pretty! If u go to Scotland, go to glencoe because it is so pretty and lots of movies are filmed there... If that matters to you at all lol :) I just thought it was amazing. I had my first. Bed and breakfast experience too, and it was quite lovely actually. The lady that ran the place was super nice and made a kickin breakfast :) we stayed in the "strawberry room" because it was all pink....everything. On the tour we went through birnum ( macbeth) and if anyone has seen the movie "made of honor", well there is a town named Athol. Yes, it is pronounced just like that. And we went to loch ness too! I went on the very loch (lake) where the famous monster/Nessie was or still iiiissss ;) haha but we took a boat out and that loch is 26 miles long and 700 ft deep in some places! Eel. So that was fun. Little ducks rode on the boat with us because the boat driver gives them food :) oh and I ate haggis! Ugh that stuff is nastyyyyyyy!!! Its about the same concept of an American hot dog, but oh man do we do it better! And there were some French girls on our tour and everytime on of them would laugh, this one girl snorted eeevverytime :) I thought it was funny. And I also found out that Celtic music is Irish, not scotish. Which was sD becUse I wanted to listen to my Celtic music in the land where it was from.... Guess I'll have to make a trip to ireland!! :) well thts about it for Scotland. Sry it took so long!
