Getting close now. Leaving on the 11th and packing already. How much or how little is a mind teaser for this inexperienced traveller. We will land at Tan Son Nhut on the 11th and meet my daughter Jess and Tim at Tulips hotel in the heart of Saigon. As someone who lived through the Vietnam war I can tell you its exciting even to mention Tan Son Nhut the airport that figured so many times in war reports at that time. The only place we are going that didn't figure in the war is Hoi An where we are meeting my sister and her hubby for his 80th birthday. Also there will be 2 of my nephews and their partners and my sisters old friend Barbara. She was a nurse and flew out of Saigon on one of the last flights at the end of the war, so she will have many memories of the place.
And when I say we I mean my son Marley and his partner Sally.
