Tiger tiger burning bright

Hội An, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam
Well the tigers did it, not that I saw it, the sports bar was too packed for me but I could hear them cheering at every Richmond goal.I don't follow Richmond but I do have a soft spot for them as I was born there and my brother in law played a few games with them. I did see a few people walking around wearing Tigers jumpers though and got the chance to say "Go tigers!".
We were going to take the Trentham crew on a bit of a tour today but it rained in the morning and they were pretty tired after their visit to the Cham islands yesterday. They did a bit of snorkelling and saw the coral reefs and many many fish. Nick has been fishing there and he says you throw in the line and pull up a fish. That easy, no wonder fish are on every menu here.
So we sat around at the shop and Banana Split waiting for the ladies to come say goodbye and for them to sort out some blunders by the shoe makers and the dress makers. One girl, Laura got a pair of shoes different sizes and Kate got a dress made that was twice the size she was measured for. Oh well, I got an orange jacket when I wanted a red one, these things happen here.
The women finally made it to the shop and said their goodbyes and Nick and I went to Nhans Kitchen just around the corner from the Le house. Nhans is currently number one for restos in Hoi An according to TripAdvisor which shows you how faulty TA is as my spaghetti bolognese was the limpest meal I've had here. It wouldn't pass muster at any pub you could mention. Nicks Vietnamese meal was similar, a westernised version of Viet food. The chef Nhan has been working in resorts and hotels for a good while and it shows. He has got so used to cooking bland food he has carried it over into his new place, which by the way is extremely popular courtesy of Trip Advisor.
Pictured is a fish we had last night at a place by the backwater of the Thubon. This place is down a dirt track which is so rough it almost threw me off the scooter. Nick complained the fish was too sweet and it's true that they add lots of sugar to the food, but I like sugar and I thought it was damn good.
This morning Na was massaging my legs and telling me about this young woman from Hanoi whose hair she washed yesterday. She did a hair wash a head and face massage and a face scrub which took 30 minutes. She told the woman 50,000 about $2.50. The woman said too expensive. Na told me a Vietnamese can get this same treatment for 20,000! One whole dollar, but My Le has set the fees and 50,000 is the going rate as far as she is concerned and this stylishly dressed woman who could afford to fly down from Hanoi for a holiday says too much. So Na is telling me this and she was trying to explain things to me but it got a bit much for her vocab so she looks up at me and says "Stop talking! Go to sleep!".
This trip I don't think I have taken one decent photograph, apologies for that, I have three cameras and not much talent.
A few odd photos some taken on the way home tonight from Cam Nam island where we sat by the river and had, wait for it, frog, squid, and clams.  While we were there Sen from An Bang beach came with her family, one girl, one boy and her husband. She remembered me and I remembered her. I still wear a bracelet she sold me.

Do you ever go to Duc's Bar on Cam Nam Island? Duc is a lovely fellow. I hope the girls trip to Cham Island wasn't too hair raising...it was when we went a few years back.
