Palm Cove, Queensland, Australia

14th - 17th July

Cairns and points north is rather busy during the winter months, so we once more called ahead and secured the last site in Palm Cove. The park is a little crowded, but very pleasant and offers clean facilities, power & water, but at $40 per night...thieves!

Our good friend Karen lives at Yorkey's Knob (don't laugh) about 12klm and we joined her at the Yorkey's Boat Club Marina for drinks on the verandah. Not a bad life up here! we then went into Cairns and walked the Esplanade to find a dinner spot, sit and watch the passing parade.

Everyone's been to cairns, no need to waffle. We spent our days walking, eating and drinking and a four day break was really pretty good. We are there to meet Tom on Thursday when he flies up, then take him, and the Lotus Inn, to Port Douglas where his partner, Aisling, and her parents are spending a week. Kevin & Aine are out from Ireland for 5 weeks and we have yet to meet them! The plan is to now spend four nights in Port Douglas together.
