The day has finally arrived and we are back home, on the road! To all our friends and family we left behind on the Gold Coast, we'll be back! For those who will be on our route around this wonderful land, we'll be there!
An uneventful day, 10am we closed the door at home (enjoy the solitude Tom & Ash) and headed west. The highway was busy all the way to Toowoomba but as usual the traffic halved by the time we drove out of that town.
Tonight we have made camp, or glamp, at Bowenville Reserve. This is a beautiful Free Camp about an hour west of Toowoomba set in parkland on the banks of a lazy creek framed by gumtrees and bush. The place is spacious, and being a non-holiday period, our nearest nomadic neighbours are about 80 meters away...ah, the serenity!
After sundown we were treated to a clear sky, the Milky Way, and in the north west, a sliver of moon escorted by a brilliant Jupiter displaying all her charms. Beef in red wine, bottle of red, great company (us), the best start of a long awaited journey.
