Day 2 - At Sea, Mar 31

Friday, March 31, 2017
Somplace East Of Ft Lauderdale, International
After a restful night it was back to the Lido deck for breakfast – relax, I won't discuss our eating
routine every day – unless there is nothing else to write about . While at breakfast, the captain announced we were changing course a bit to investigate something that was spotted in the distance. A rule of the sea is that help must be rendered for anyone in distress. Upon a closer look, it was determined to be a capsized catamaran with no people in sight. His call to the Miami Coast Guard revealed the accident had happened a couple of months prior and 3 people had been rescued.

A cooking demonstration showed how to make two appetizers, veal meatballs and crab cakes and crème brule desert. We attended a talk about the progression of ocean crossing vessels from sail to steam power. After high tea with finger sandwiches and delightfully fussy pastries, we are sitting outside our stateroom where I am writing this. Temperature is about 72 F and
seas approaching 5-6 feet – the ship is starting to rock a little.
