Day 15 - Tapas and Los Caracoles

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands
Got to Barcelona, Spain in good fashion. Our Hotel Ramblas is a short taxi ride from the port. We
were too early to check in, so we stowed our luggage and walked a few blocks to an enclosed square with many restaurants . We sat there for a couple of hours enjoying tapas and wine. Since siesta lasts a few hours, we returned to the hotel, checked in, and yes – siesta time.

Went out later into La Rambla boulevard which was full of people going every which way. Being
spring break and holy week, there are many locals and tourists out. We sought out a recommended restaurant called Los Caracoles, a place Anna has been. Seen from the street, it has chickens roasting in the wall, and once inside, people must pass through the kitchen to get to the dining area. We had a fine meal. Marj had paella (typical Spanish fair) and I had some of that chicken from the wall accompanied by wine, of course, and finished with crème catalan – an experience to be remembered.

One of my all time favorite cities on the world and one of the few places I would return to again and again. Seeing the photos gives me warm fuzzies! And so glad Los Carascoles did not disappoint It is a landmark there to be sure. Love ya and looking forward to seeing you soon!
