Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands
Good Friday in Barcelona. Today we did the city tour with a hop-on hop-off bus. The buses follow a route hat stops near all the major attractions of the city. People can get off, visit the attraction, and get on the next bus that comes by – as often as you want. We did all three loops without any visits and it took 3 – 4 hours. Took a photo of a palm tree because I would not have expected to see palm trees here. We also saw orange trees and traveled a street where often parrots are seen.

On our way walking back along Las Ramblas to our hotel, we heard drums so we went to investigate and found that it was a Good Friday solemn procession . If you watch the video, you can see people in costume, cross bearers, full dress donas, and floats. The floats are carried by men resting the structure on their shoulders underneath the bed of the float. It was a very moving
procession and an emotional crowd with people crossing themselves and sometimes having tears.

We finished the day sangria and tapas at our hotel.
