Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Last night, as we slowly made our way towards our first port of call (Brisbane) and after we had eaten dinner, there was some excitement in the cabin.

Everything was going well and then I hear ‘oh dear’ in a slightly concerned tone, then I hear the slosh
of water and see a small wave come out of the under the bathroom door . Due to some plumbing issues with our shower, mum while washing her hair had created our own inside swimming pool with bonus waterfall. So at 11:30 at night we were faced with a section of the cabin slowly getting flooded everything the ship rocked from side to side.
Thankfully the situation was solved quite quickly. Our temperamental drain unblocked and the majority of the water soaked up before we retired to bed.
After last night’s excitement, we were both looking forward to a nice leisurely day in Brisbane.
We were picked up by my Aunty Sharon, who dutifully took us to the closest shopping mall so that we
could pick up some last minute items for the cabin. Living in a such a small space for the next three months, means compartmentalising our lives, so it was time to stock up on plastic containers.
Once we had filled our need for storage, we headed into the city for a walk along the river and lunch, both of which were lovely. During the walk two bridges were crossed, several steps were stepped up and one very steep hill was climbed .
Once the river loop was completed, we headed back to the house for a quick hello to the cousins and
then it was time to head back to the ship. During our visit to Brisbane, we picked up another stow away to keep the animals company. We figure the more the merrier.
And so with Belinda Bunny from Brisbane, who is actually a duck in bunny clothes, tagging along for the ride, we reboarded the ship for our epic 8 day journey to Singapore.
After a quick appearance at the sail away party and dinner at the buffet, we headed back to the room to watch the second half of the first Hunger Games movie and to get some well earned shut eye.
Mid morning tomorrow we should be passing Gladstone and then upwards along the Great Barrier Reef.
Fun fact:My pedometer has kindly let me know that since midnight I have done over 20,000 steps. No wonder my feet are a little sore and the calves are feeling tight.
