At Sea, Maluku, Indonesia
Another day at sea, another morning session of Zumba and afternoon trivia.

While we are getting better at Zumba, our trivia score today left a fair bit to be desired – with a score of 10/20, we are putting all the blame on the questions! I mean who knows what a juvenile male turkey is called anyway (we later found out it is a jake) . That said overall we are doing well, last time we checked we were sitting in about 15th position.

While Zumba is great fun, the participants in morning trivia that follow our class are starting to arrive earlier and earlier to get their special seats. This meant that this morning, (due to earlier activities running late) we had some trivia people trying to get to their seat while Zumba was in full swing. While we are getting more coordinated with our moves, there are still many flailing arms and legs, this meant that there were a couple of close calls.

We spent most of the day travelling west through the Arafura, Timor and Banda Seas. For most of the day we could see Timor just off the side of the ship, but unfortunately we were too far offshore to be able to see anything exciting.

As today was one of our 'doing things separately days', mum other than choir practice, spent most of the afternoon looking at Timor through the binoculars . She was chuffed to see some terraced agriculture. I spent the afternoon sitting on the side deck watching the island go by and played a spirited game of elevator roulette – a brilliant game than involves betting fake chips on which of three possible elevators will arrive on a specific floor first. Other than filling in some time, it was funny to see the expressions of people getting out of the lift to see a group of people celebrating their arrival.

After having dinner last night in the buffet, we returned to our usual table in the restaurant for dinner.

After dinner mum checked out the karaoke, while I headed up to the pool deck to watch the Monte Carlo F1 Grand Prix. There were quite a few people watching the race – there was some excitement when one of the cars crashed and the safety car came out. As I started to get sleepy, I didn’t hang around to see who won.

We have another time change tonight, so from tomorrow we’re on Singapore time.

On a side note, the jackpot for bingo went off. A lovely fellow won $2002. Everyone was quite shocked. Tomorrow the jackpot goes back to $1000.

Fun fact:
Did you know onion is the most used vegetable in the world?
