At Sea, Maharashtra, India
We are only a couple of days away from Dubai and finishing our first sector. At Dubai some passengers will be leaving the ship, while new passengers get on.

This means that in Dubai some the current choir participants will be leaving and the choir as it currently know it won't exist . With all the practice they have been doing, it was time for them to show us what they could do. So after a closed door rehearsal in the morning, it was time for the choir to perform.

When I arrived to watch mum perform, the theatre was pretty much at standing room only. With 150 participants, everyone on the ship likely knows someone who is in the choir. Camera fully charged and hands ready to clap, I managed to get a seat near the front.

After a brief introduction from the cruise director, the choir got started. After singing old favourites like the rose, far away places and your raise me up, as well as a standing ovation from the audience, they finished their performance with a rendition of do re me. I’m sure all the members of the choir received many congratulations for the rest of the afternoon.

The remainder of the day was spent creating an origami elephant in the craft group and bluffing our way through trivia – which had many stupidly hard questions (the winning score was a low 18/20).

As tomorrow we are in Mumbai, the talk of the ship has been who is getting off and who isn’t and what people are planning to do. Quite a few of the people who are opting to not get off the ship have already been to Mumbai and have seen everything they want to see.

Fun fact:
If you block your nose, you aren’t able to hum.
