Time for another sea day

At Sea, Galicia, Spain and Canary Islands
The trip to our next port will take about two days, so today was a sea day.

While the normal activities were done (Zumba, Choir and afternoon trivia), there was some controversy .

Due to a culinary demonstration that was being held at the same time and place as our Zumba location, we were relocated to the open deck near the pool. Normally this would be fine except the weather wasn't very nice – it was blowing a 30 knot gale which meant it was a little bit chilly. We also had a few people pop out to take a look at the class and I’m fairly sure we are going appear in a few videos. While it was nice to do it on the deck and get some sunshine, it was a little bit uncomfortable being watched by people eating their breakfast and the area we were doing it in was a little bit slippery (Mum slipped over).

The culinary demonstration also meant that choir practice was done over lunchtime. I’m sure this left the choir participants feeling a little hungry.

The rest of the day was fine and as we are nearing the end of another sector, we decided it would be time to have another go at winning the bingo jackpot . The jackpot didn’t go off and we didn’t get close to winning anything.

Tonight was the final formal night for this part of the trip. It was also the second last night we would have with a couple who sit on our dinner table. Having spent most nights eating dinner with them, we had all grown fond of each other. To celebrate/say goodbye, we all went to the steakhouse for a slap up steak dinner. The food provided in this restaurant isn’t covered in the cost of the trip, so it is an optional extra. That said it is good value. The cover charge is $25 and for that you get dinner options like King Prawn entrée and a Porterhouse steak (with bone) that comes in at a whopping 22 oz or an 8 oz fillet plus sides.

We all had a lovely evening and ate too much.

Fun fact:
The only letter in the alphabet that does not represent an element in the periodic table is the letter "J".

Thanks for the postcard from Venezia. Good to see you're keeping up the exercise regime with Zumba. Especially after those big steak dinners.
