Time to visit the hairdresser

At Sea, International
Day one of the Atlantic crossing was calm and uneventful.

Other than the usual activities (yes we are that boring), I found time to visit the beauty salon for a much needed hair cut. Given it has been two months since my last one, it was well and truly time. The hair was taking on a life of its own and was getting more and more annoying to deal with each day!

In less than an hour and for a ok amount of money, my hair was shampooed and trimmed into submission again.

I also found time to go along and listen to one of the new guest lecturers who used to provide security protection for various important British people. Today he discussed what it was like protecting Margaret Thatcher during and after her time as Prime Minister. While he didn't go into detail about what was involved in protecting her, he did tell us a couple of interesting stories. One of which about when he took his son to work as part of his schools 'Take your son to work day’ day. Unlike some of his school friends, his son got to meet Lady Thatcher, had breakfast in the House of Lords and got to go to the police shooting range. Very exciting.

Tonight was also the first formal night for the Southampton – New York sector, so it was time to pull out the nice clothes again and make an effort.

Fun fact:
The Atlantic covers about 1/5 of the globe and the ancient Greeks and Romans believed the Atlantic to be just one huge river that encircled the world.
